The Trojans Boys Soccer team was host to the annual Owosso Invitational this weekend, with Corunna, Durand and Ovid-Elsie coming to play on Saturday. The Trojans would start their day playing last year's Owosso Invitational runner's up and the 2025 MMAC conference champions, the Durand Railroaders. In 2025, Durand won the same contest, 2-1 on a late goal and the Trojans sputtering in attack. The 2026 game would look eerily like the year before. The game was tight, with both teams struggling to find the back of the net, but creating chance, until senior, Uriyah Buggs would break the tie on a nice turn at the top of the box to free up his left foot for a nice goal. That single goal would be the difference, with the Trojans holding on defensively and securing the 1-0 win. Next up was Ovid-Elsie, under new coach, Jerome White who took over the Maurauders after a great campaign as the girls varsity coach. The Marauders came in as the defending invitational champions from 2025. The game started with a similar pace as the prior, with both teams creating chances, but failing to score until Alex Gallo would find Leo Erfourth on a nice little pass and Leo burying the games first goal. The Marauders would respond to make it 1-1. The rain would be the story for this game, but creating conditions that favored the Trojans cross country heavy attack with Brady Rappuhn scoring for the Trojans to make it 2-1, with Leo scoring the games 4th goal to make it 3-1 and Brady netting the next to make it 4-1. The last game for the Trojans would be the Corunna Cavaliers. The Trojans were up for the challenge in this installment of a rain game, with Owosso scoring 4 goals in the first half and 4 more in the second to end the contest early. Brady Rappuhn ended this one early, scoring 3 goals in just under 16 minutes to start the game, Senior Ryder Canfield scoring the nexts 2, Devin Arriaga getting two and Sam Baade scoring in between the Devin goals. With the final win, the Trojans would take the invitational crown, Durand finishing second, OE third and the young Cavalier squad taking 4th.
