The Owosso Varsity Volleyball team continued its early-season development Saturday at the Motor City Power Series, competing against programs from across the state and gaining valuable experience against a variety of high-level opponents. The Trojans faced L'Anse Creuse North, Frankenmuth, Grosse Pointe South and Imlay City, giving a young Owosso team an opportunity to see different styles of play and identify areas for continued growth early in the season. Several Trojans produced strong individual performances throughout the day. Adysen Freeman led the Owosso attack through the first three matches with 14 kills and four service aces, while Breeah Reed added 12 kills, 13 digs and two block assists, contributing on both sides of the ball. Setter Ainsley Lintner directed the offense with 35 assists over the first three matches, while Ryder Elwell anchored the back row with 18 digs. Elwell also handled a team-high 32 serve-receive attempts during that stretch. Freshman Aspyn Brock provided another bright spot offensively, recording nine kills and four aces, including a three-kill performance against L'Anse Creuse North and four kills and four aces against Grosse Pointe South. Owosso also saw contributions throughout its lineup. Nevaeh LeConte was steady in serve receive, while Natalie Jaime contributed three kills and two aces against Grosse Pointe South. The Power Series provided exactly the type of early-season challenge the Trojans were looking for—an opportunity to compete against strong programs outside their normal schedule, learn where they currently stand and identify what it will take to continue improving. For Owosso, the emphasis remains on growth. Facing statewide competition this early gives the Trojans valuable experience they can carry with them as they move deeper into the 2026 season.
