Last Night, the Owosso Trojans Varsity Soccer team welcomed the Chesaning Indians to Willman Field to kick off both teams seasons. The game was quiet for the first 10-15 minutes with both teams looking to find their legs against live opponents. The Trojans would find the net first, with Sophomore, Devin Arriaga connecting on a header from a corner sent in by Sophomore, Alex Gallo. The Trojans wouldn't be stopped there on the night. Ryder Canfield would settle right back into his form from last year, finding the back of the net for the Trojans 3 more times before the first half would come to an end. The second half would see Devin Arriaga again open the scoring for the Trojans to make the game 5-0. The Indians would score next, to make the game 5-1 on a goal from a former OSC player scoring against his old teammates. Junior, Brady Rappuhn decided it was his time later in the 2nd half, scoring his first goal of the season and putting the Trojans back up by 5 goals, to make it 6-1. Ryder Canfield would score the final goal on the night, to make the score 7-1. On the night, the Trojans would get some quality minutes out of many new and some returning faces. Junior Goaltender, Seth Ihm was his usual calm self, batting away nearly every shot he faced from Chesaning. Alex Gallo end with 2 assists in his debut in a Trojans kit, and Uriyah Buggs showed he still has a great touch setting up one of the Trojans goals. The Trojans play again this Saturday, with the annual Owosso Invitational being played with the Trojans getting set to play Durand, Ovid-Elsie and Corunna in the round robin Tournament.
