The Owosso Varsity Volleyball team began a new era Wednesday, battling through three tough matches against New Lothrop, Grand Blanc and Reese. The Trojans fell 0-2 to both New Lothrop and Grand Blanc before responding with a three-set victory over Reese, 2-1, to earn their first win of the season. Owosso showed its resilience in the final match of the night. Breeah Reed led the offense against Reese with 14 kills, while Adysen Freeman added eight. Ainsley Lintner directed the offense with 23 assists, and the Trojans were aggressive from the service line with 14 aces. Ryder Elwell and Natalie Jamie recorded four aces apiece, while Adyson Miculka added three. Defensively, Owosso totaled 46 digs against Reese, with strong back-row contributions throughout the lineup. Earlier in the night, Aspyn Brock recorded five kills against both New Lothrop and Grand Blanc, including an impressive .625 hitting percentage against Grand Blanc. With a young roster and several players stepping into new roles, the Trojans showed they are competitive, resilient and ready to take on new challenges as they build momentum in the 2026 season.
