A strong 2025 fall season came to an end for the OHXC Lady Eagles Saturday with a highly respectable Top 20 finish at the IHSAA New Haven Regional held at Huntington University. The field of 25 teams was competing in the one class system for 5 spots at next weekend's IHSAA State Finals. Fresh off their Sectional Championship a week ago the Lady Eagles were not the sharpest they have been all season but competed well and reached their goal of a highly competitive Top 20 finish. #2 State Ranked Fort Wayne Concordia won the event. The Lady Eagles at 19th were the 2nd best Class 2a or smaller team in the field and 1 of just 5 Class 3a and below football classifications to make the Top 20. Defending individual State Champion Daphne Weller of FW Concordia was the overall champion. The Lady Eagels were led by two Top 100 finishes from Senior Biruk Travis and Junior Quinn Brunner. Both battled to run very close to their season best times to take 53rd and 92nd respectively. The duo had led the Lady Eagles all season with the pair going 1-2 at the Grant 4 and Central Indiana Conference Meet, along with a 1-3 at last week's IHSAA Marion Sectional. Travis won her 2nd Sectional Title of her career a week ago. Brunner was almost a minute faster Saturday than she was a year ago in this meet and was 40 seconds quicker than she was on the course a month ago. Sophomore Lilly Hunt was 134th while classmate Rossi Skinner was 194th. Junior Lilly Snyder had a strong day taking 202nd. The senior duo of Kaitlyn Scalf and Sophia Rowland rounded out their careers for OHXC in 208th and 210th. On the season the Lady Eagles were ranked as the #7 Team in Class 2a and won Grant 4, Central Indiana Conference, and IHSAA Sectional Championships. On the year they lost to only a combined 3 Class 2a sized schools.
