OHXC Golden Eagles Win Program Record 10th Straight Conference Championship - Tippey, Sommers, Hart, Clark, Hueston, & McQuiston All Earn 1st Team All CIC Honors

The OHXC Golden Eagles kept their hot streak going winning their 6th straight Major Championship of the season Saturday at IWU capturing the Central Indiana Conference Title with a impressively low 22 points and in the process setting a program record by winning their 10th straight Conference Championship. It's the 1st time in program history the boys won more than 9 Conference Championships in a row. It was their 22nd Conference Title the last 25 years. The Golden Eagles managed to have 6 athletes earn 1st Team All Conference Honors along with 4 additional Honorable Mention selections. In doing so and winning the Golden Eagles matched the Wrestling Program as the only boys programs in Oak Hill Athletics history to win 10 consecutive Conference Championships. The only girls program to do so is Track & Field whose current streak is active at 14. The Golden Eagles who have not lost since August 12th and are currently ranked #2 in Class 2a were led by a 2-3-4-5 finish from Seniors Corban Tippey and Brayden Sommers in 2nd and 3rd and Junior Wyatt Hart and Sophomore Josh Clark in 4th and 5th. Clark's classmate Bret Hueston had a strong day moving up into 8th while Freshman Cooper McQuiston grabbed the last 1st Team All Conference Spot in 10th. For the efforts the Golden Eagle's Top 6 Athletes all earned 1st Team All Conference Honors. The Golden Eagles totaled 22 points as Mississinewa was 2nd with 60 and Eastbrook 3rd with 70. Not done collecting All Conference hardware yet, the Golden Eagles placed 4 more athletes in the Top 20 to earn Honorable Mention Honors. Freshman Graham Arrendale was 16th, Sophomore Gavin Key 17th, Sophomore Grant Melton 18th, and Junior Eli Leak 20th. In all 10 Golden Eagles earned All Conference Honors. Tippey became just the 7th Golden Eagle in program history to earn 1st Team All CIC Honors. Sommers and Hart both earned the 2nd 1st Team Honors of their career. The Golden Eagles are off this week and then start up IHSAA Tournament action competing in the Marion Sectional on Saturday October 18th back at IWU.
