OHJHXC Competes at Marion Invitational - Blair Wins and Sets New Course Record, Bishop Medals

For the 2nd straight weekend 8th Grade OHXC Golden Eagle Brantley Blair won a major invitational as well as shattering the meet and course record in the process. Saturday competing at Indiana Wesleyan Blair, who has the fastest time in the state for a JH athlete at this point) won the near 200 runner boys race in a time of 9:45.1. Blair's time was nearly 45 seconds ahead of 2nd place and broke an eight year old meet and 3,000 Meter Course record. The old record of 10:01.9 was set in 2017 by Noblesville's Luke Shinneman. Blair broke the OHXC Program record along with the Oak Hill 3k Course and Oak Hill Invite Meet records a week ago. The boys finished 11th as a team in the 24 team field. Classmates Keaton Vetor and Colson Woodard were the only other Golden Eagles in the top 70 finishing 64th and 69th respectively. On the girls side the Lady Eagles took 9th as a team in the 24 team field. 8th Grade Lady Eagle Verity Bishop was the lone athlete to earn a Medal on the Podium with a 25th place finish. Other Lady Eagles to post Top 55 places were 8th Grader Lucy Devers and 6th Grader Lakyn Blair in 37th and 54th respectively. The JHXC teams compete this Saturday in the Maconaquah Invitational.
