Varsity Football fell to Eastern Friday night. The Eagles and Comets were tied at the break 6-6 thanks to a QB Sneak by Junior QB Jett Ott. Second half fireworks began when Senior Beckham Lamb returned a punt 59 yards for a score and Ott found Senior Drake Pond in the corner of the endzone for a two point conversion. The Comets scored two consecutive 4th quarter touchdowns to take a 20-14 lead. The Golden Eagles answered with a 50 yard kick return from Lamb and later a 1yd TD from Ott. The Comets scored the go-ahead TD with 4 seconds remaining in the 4th quarter to drop the Golden Eagles 26-22. The Eagles fell to 0-1 on the season and will take on Norwell (0-1) at home this Friday night.
