The OHTF Golden Eagles were represented at the IHSAA State Track & Field Finals for the 9th straight year Friday in Indianapolis by Sophomores Jalen Scott and Kyle Brower. The underclassmen duo had advanced to the State Finals by placing Top 3 a week ago in their respective events in the IHSAA Fort Wayne Carroll Regional. Scott, who was the IHSAA Sectional and Regional Champion in the 100 Meter Dash and entered as the 10th seed after posting a new personal best 10.7 at Regional, finished 23rd out of 35 sprinters in the deep field Friday. His time of 10.9 matched his previous personal best entering the Regional and was just the 4th time in his career he broke the 11 second barrier. Overall Scott is 1 of only 6 Golden Eagle athletes to ever break 11 seconds. A Top 25 finish was still a great final race and earned him invaluable experience in that atmosphere and against that level of competition. Scott was the 1st Golden Eagle to advance to the State Finals in the 100 since Delmar Terry in 1988. Brower also had a learning experience that will only make him better as the underclassmen vaulter did not manage to clear the opening height. The opening height was 13-6 just 6 inches below his personal best of 14 which he cleared at the Regional. It was a tough opening height for the field as Brower was 1 of 8 athletes to not record a mark. Brower became the 1st Golden Eagle to qualify for the State Finals in the event since Gavin Holz in 2019. Brower had been Sectional and Regional Runner Up to advance. Scott posted the 2nd fastest time in program history this year just .1 behind Damon Pyle's record 10.6. Brower's season best ranked tied for 3rd all time with his brother Nate. Both Scott and Brower were All State Athletes Indoors in 2025. The Golden Eagles concluded their 2025 season as Grant 4, Central Indiana Conference, and IHSAA Sectional Runners Up with 1 Regional Champion and 2 State Qualifiers.
