The Oak Hill Lady Eagles ended with a bottom of the 9th inning walk off bunt to win in the first round of sectionals against Lewis Cass tonight. Lewis Cass struck first to put them ahead 1-0 in the first inning after a couple hits. That would be the last run they scored. Oak Hill struggled the first couple innings to score even with runners on base. Bottom of the third, Ryleigh Myers decides to hit an in the park home run to tie up the ball game. The next five innings both teams remained scoreless with both pitchers doing their best to keep the batters on their toes. The Lady Eagles put themselves into scoring position in the 7th and 8th inning but were unable to score the runners. However, they were able to do it in the 9th. Ryleigh Myers started it off with a slap up the middle to advance to first base. Then her sister, Lex Myers, pushed a bunt towards first base to get on. Jolee Hawkins came up to bat and bunted the ball to the pitcher. The pitcher threw it to third base to try to get the lead runner, but overthrew it and Ryleigh Myers ran home to win the game. R. Myers went 3-for-5 with 1 RBI. J. Hawkins went 2-for-3 with 1 RBI. Karsyn Wiley pitched a great game with only 1 run earned and striking out 14 batters. The Eagles face Rochester tomorrow night at 7 pm for a chance to play in the sectional championship.
