Lady Eagle Softball beat the Lewis Cass Kings 6-1. Oak Hill scored 1 run in the first inning with 2 outs. Jolee Hawkins was hit by a pitch, then Karsyn Wiley drew a walk, followed by another walk by Madison Archer to load the bases. Madi Evans was able to draw another walk to score the 1 run of the inning. Through the next 5 innings the Eagles were unable to score another run. They were hitting the ball, but seemed to find the gloves of the Kings. Lewis Cass was able to tie up the game on a solo home run in the 6th inning to make the score 1-1 going into the 7th. The Eagles decided to pour it on and scored 5 runs. Liz Godfrey started off the inning with a single shot into right center. Lex Myers then caused some chaos with a beautiful bunt that led to an RBI and her standing on 3rd base after an overthrow to 1st base. Ryleigh Myers laid down a beautiful slap scoring L. Myers and beating out the throw to first. J. Hawkins came up and hit a single into left field. K. Wiley followed with her own hit into left scoring R. Myers. Madison Archer hit a ground ball to short who threw it to third for the first out of the inning. Then Madi Evans drew another walk to load the bases. Becca Cardona hit a run in with her single and Pathie Speicher scored a run on a hard hit sacrifice fly to left. R. Myers went 2 for 3 with an RBI. B. Cardona went 2 for 4 with an RBI. Karsyn Wiley pitched a complete game only allowing 2 hits, 7 strike outs, and 1 run. The Eagles will play their first conference game of the season Thursday at Alexandria.
