Softball (Girls V) Scores

Varsity Softball picked up a win on the road tonight against Maconaquah. 10-8 The Eagles struck in the first inning starting with a single from Lex Myers and followed by a single from Ryleigh Myers. They advanced on a passed ball and were hit home by Jolee Hawkins double into center. The Braves answered with 3 runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning. In the top of the third, Lex Myers, again, started off the inning with a single. R. Myers moved Riley Archer, the pinch runner for L. Myers, to 2nd base on a sacrifice. Jolee Hawkins had another hit and was able to advance to 2nd on a passed ball. With runners at 2nd and 3rd, Karsyn Wiley hit a single right off the third base to score both runners. Once again, Maconaquah answered with 2 runs to protect their 1 run lead. The Eagles waited to score again in the 6th inning. J. Hawkins led off with a walk, followed up by a double from K. Wiley. Kady Graves came in to run for Wiley and advanced to 3rd on a passed ball. Then on Madison Archer's RBI fly ball to left, she was able to tag up and score after the catch. The Braves were able to score 2 more runs in the bottom of the 6th to make the score 6-7. Senior Liz Godfrey led off the rally by the Eagles with a single. L. Myers hit a high flyer and reached 1st on an error by the center fielder. R. Myers hit a beautiful slap to reach 1st loading the bases. J. Hawkins stepped up to the plate with confidence and hit a line drive into right center to score 2 runs, putting Oak Hill in the lead. Madison Archer hit another single into the shortstop and third base gap to score a run and Madi Evans hit a sacrifice fly to center to score the last run of the night for the Eagles. Jolee Hawkins went 3 for 3 with 4 RBIs and 3 hits. Karsyn Wiley went 2 for 4 with 2 RBIs. Madison Archer had 2 RBIs. Karsyn Wiley pitched 4 innings for the Eagles and had 5 strikeouts. Pathie Speicher pitched 3 innings and had 3 strikeouts The Eagles return to play Monday April 21st at Peru High School.
