OHTF Golden Eagles Win 10 Events to Score 92 Points in Wins Over Frankton & Sheridan - Scott & Tippey Win 3 Events Each, Elzinga & Wyrick Win 2.

The OHTF Golden Eagles won 10 Events Tuesday in a Triangular Meet at Frankton against the host Eagles and Sheridan. In all the Golden Eagles also managed a 1-2-3 event sweep in 3 events and a 1-2 event sweep in 6 to total 92 Points. Frankton finished with 40 points while Sheridan totaled 23. Sophomore sprinter Jalen Scott and Junior distance runner Corban Tippey led the way both winning all 3 of their events. The Golden Eagles got double wins from Seniors Lance Wyrick and Drew Elzinga as well. Scott individually ran away with the 100 Meter Dash and 200 Meter Dash. His time of 10.9 in the 100 matched his personal best and ranks him 4th all time in Program History. Scott also anchored the winning 4x100 Meter Relay. Joining Scott on the relay were Seniors Reese Hernandez and Seth David along with Freshman Jesse Zwirn. Scott led a 1-2-3 finish in the 100 followed by Hernandez and David. He then led a 1-2-3 finish in the 200 followed by David and Zwirn Tippey individually won the 1600 Meter Run and 3200 Meter Run while being part of the winning 4x800 Meter Relay. Tippey was joined on the relay by Seniors Wyrick and Owen Middlesworth along with Junior Caden Myers. Tippey and Myers led a 1-2-3-4 sweep of the 1600 along with Sophomore Eli Leak and Freshman Bret Hueston who also followed Tippey in the 3200 for a 1-2 sweep. Wyrick individually won the 400 Meter Dash in 52 seconds for his 2nd win of the night. Elzinga won both hurdle races claiming 1st in the 110 Meter Hurdles and the 300 Meter Hurdles. He broke 16 seconds for the 1st time in his career in the 110 Hurdles clocking a 15.9 good enough for a Top 17 all time program mark. Classmate Micah McKinney posted a personal best in the 300 Hurdles to claim a 1-2 finish with Elzinga in the event. Sophomore Luke Elzinga earned the only other win on the night claiming the Long Jump. Elzinga and David went 1-2 with both athletes pushing 20 feet. Additional runner up finishes on the night came from Junior Thane Jones in the Shot Put, Senior Owen Roth in the 800 Meter Run, and the 4x400 Meter Relay of Roth Freshmen Noah Wagner and Josh Clark along with Junior Marc Caritos.
