Oak Hill High School

Oak Hill Varsity Softball loses to Bluffton in 8 innings 12-13. The Lady Eagles jumped on the Tigers early scoring 2 runs, but Bluffton answered with a run of their own in the first inning. Then in the 2nd inning the Tigers took the lead after scoring 4 runs to put them ahead 5-2. Oak Hill put 2 on the board in the 3rd with 2 outs started off by a walk by Karsyn Wiley. Madison Archer hit a single up the middle to get on. Then Madi Evans hit one to left field to score 2 RBIs. The top of the 4th inning, the Lady Eagles turned up the heat and put 6 runs on the board capitalizing on some errors and well placed hits. Liz Godfrey started out the run getting hit by a pitch. On some confusion brought about by Lex Myers slap, she and Godfrey were able to advance. Ryleigh Myers also made it to first on a slap and scored Godfrey. Jolee Hawkins hit the ball into left field and scored 2 RBIs. Then Karsyn W. hit a shot between 3rd and shortstop for a single. Madison Archer reached first with a well placed hit into left center. Evans was walked and then Becca Cardona hit a single that scored 2 runs. Going into the bottom of the 7th, the Eagles were up 12-7, but the Tigers were able to capitalize on an error and scored 5 runs to force extra innings. Oak Hill was unable to score in the top of the 8th inning. Bluffton was able to score the game ending run with a very close play at the plate. Ryleigh went 3 for 5 with 1 RBI. Jolee Hawkins had 3 RBIs. Karsyn Wiley had 3 hits along with an RBI. Madison Archer went 3 for 4. Madi Evans had 3 RBIs. Karsyn Wiley started the game and pitched 2 innings and had 2 strikeouts. Pathie Speicher pitched the rest of the game and had 2 strikeouts. The Eagles return to play tonight at North Miami.
