Oak Hill Softball wins first game of season against Northwestern. The Lady Eagles started off the game a little slow at the plate, but were able to strike first in the top of the 3rd inning. Madi Evans started the inning off with a single and advanced on an error and a passed ball. Lex Myers laid down a sacrifice bunt to score her. Once again in the third inning, Madi Evans lead off the inning with a walk and advanced to second on a passed ball. Lex Myers was walked which brought Karsyn Wiley up. She doubled on a hit into right center scoring a run. The Eagles were able to score two more runs with a passed ball and quick thinking by the baserunners. Oak Hill scored two more runs in the last two innings and were able to hold out a late rally by the Tigers. Hitting was pretty evenly spread for the Lady Eagles tonight with 7 hits total, each from a different player. Lex Myers went 1 for 2 with a sacrifice bunt for an RBI. Karsyn Wiley and Pathie Speicher both had one RBI each. Pitching: Karsyn W. pitched the first couple innings and had 5 strikeouts and only allowed 1 run. Pathie Speicher finished up the game strong for the Eagles causing 7 strikeouts. The Lady Eagles return to play this Thursday against Eastern in their first home game of the season.
