The JHXC Lady Eagle and Golden Eagle teams concluded their 2024 seasons Saturday with a strong 2nd and 5th place finish at the Central Indiana Conference Championship Meet held at Indiana Wesleyan. The Lady Eagles were Runners Up with 47 points trailing only Eastbrook and in front of Frankton. Verity Bishop led the way with a strong 3rd place finish earning the program's only Top 5 Medal. Bishop, a 7th grader was joined in the Top 10 by 8th grader Isabella Ybarra in 10th. Bishop's classmate Lucy Devers was 11th overall followed closely behind by 8th grader Sydnee Roy in 12th. 6th grader Reese Skinner rounded out the scoring Top 5 in 17th place. Karina Drollinger finished 42nd overall. The Golden Eagle boys were led by 7th grader Brantley Blair who finished 7th. Blair's finish unfortunately was no where near his potential as the young Golden Eagle was stricken by illness all week and was over 2 minutes off his personal best. During the fall Blair had won multiple races and been a podium Medalist at all the team's events. Blair ran the 3rd fastest time in Program History this fall trailing only Owen Jackson and his own father Bryant Blair. Blair's personal best on a healthy day would have been close to a minute faster than the event winner. Keaton Vetor, a 7th grader rounded out a strong season in 19th. Other Golden Eagle finishers were 7th grader Colson Woodard in 24th along with 8th grader Ethan Cain in 25th. Woodard's classmate Zeke Siler in 31st, Mason Brown 41st, 6th grader Andrew Ratliff 46th, and 7th grader Eli Lawhorn in 48th. Great Job this season athletes and Coach Hasty.
