Boys Varsity Soccer Eagles with BIG win over Indians 8-1 on Senior Night

The Boys Varsity Soccer Team played at home last night against the Mississinewa Indians and the Senior Night festivities were held before the game. It was a beautiful night for a soccer game! The Golden Eagles came ready to play and not only win but win big heading into Sectionals next week. The Eagles held the Indians scoreless in the first half and the goals and assists were spread out amongst lots of players. The first goal was scored by Caden Myers unassisted 9 minutes into the game. Quickly followed at minutes 14 and 17 by the Elzinga Brothers. Luke Elzinga scored first assisted by Senior Drew Elzinga and then Luke returned the favor assisting Drew Elzinga on a goal. Caden Myers then scored his second goal of the night assisted by Senior Jose Morales. Finally to close out the first half of the game, Senior Maddux Boswell scored assisted by Senior Jose Morales. The Golden Eagles then came back from half time finding the back of the net yet again with a goal scored by Senior Drew Elzinga assisted by Senior Noah Thompson. The Indians then were able to get a goal in making the score 6-1. Senior Seth David then scored the seventh goal assisted by Luke Elzinga. Finally, the last goal of the game was scored by the Eagles and Senior Drew Elzinga assisted again by his brother Luke Elzinga. Final score in the win was 8-1. Senior Collin Kreitzer had two saves in goal during the Eagles win! Coach Dustin Keller was able to also give several Seniors and their underclassman brothers the chance to play on the Varsity field together as they closed out the regular season. What a perfect Senior night - Great job Eagles!! Come out and Support next week as the Eagles play Mississinewa in the first game of the Sectionals at Eastbrook on Tuesday night 5:30 pm.
