OHTF Golden Eagles Capture 9 of 15 Events to Grab a 77-46 Win Over Frankton. Jones, Scott, & Tippey All Win Multiple Events

The OHTF Golden Eagles won 9 of 15 events and took the Top 3 spots in 4 events to beat host Frankton 77-46 Wednesday night. On the night the Golden Eagles were led by 3 athletes who all won multiple events. Seniors Corban Tippey and Thane Jones dominated the distance events and throws as Tippey won both the 1600 Meter Run and 800 Meter Run while Jones swept the Shot Put and Disc. Jones won the Shot Put by nearly 10 feet. Junior speedster Jalen Scott swept the 100 Meter Dash and 200 Meter Dash. Tippey led a 1-2-3-4-5 finish for the Golden Eagles in both his events. In the 1600 Junior Wyatt Hart was 2nd. Sophomores Josh Clark and Grant Melton went 3-4 with Freshman Graham Arrendale taking 5th. In the 800 Senior Caden Myers was 2nd just in front of Hart in 3rd. Sophomore Christian Smiley was just behind the two upperclassmen in 4th while Sophomore Charlie Thompson fought hard to take the 5th spot. Jones led a 1-2 finish in the Discus with Junior Tristin Grinslade taking 2nd with both Golden Eagles tossing over 130 feet. Scott led a 1-2 finish in his events along with Senior Jerald Graves who is unable to score and competing as a JV athlete. Junior Dylan Archer was 3rd in the 100 while Freshman Tayt Bowlin and Sophomore Kiegen Phillippe were 3rd and 4th in the 200. Junior Luke Elzinga grabbed a win in the 400 Meter Dash while Clark added a win in the 3200 leading a 1-2-3 sweep with Arrendale and Melton. Elzinga added a strong 2nd in the Long Jump pushing 21 feet. Classmate Cayden Jones and Sophomore Braylon Carey continued to improve in the event going 3rd and 4th both with jumps over or near 20 feet. Freshman hurdler Dylan Hardcastle battled to pair of 2nds in the 110 Meter and 300 Meter Hurdle races. Thompson, Arrendale, and Melton joined up with Freshman Steven Sherwood to win the 4x800 Meter Relay. The Golden Eagles compete again next Tuesday at Elwood in a triangular meet with the host Panthers and Eastbrook. They then host the annual Co-Ed Oak Hill Relays on Saturday April 25th.
