Record-setting Panther will continue volleyball career at the NCAA Division I level Some athletes leave a mark on a program. Others redefine what is possible. Oak Grove High School junior Paisley Hudson has done exactly that, announcing her verbal commitment to continue her volleyball career at Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi. Already regarded as one of the most accomplished players in Panther volleyball history, Hudson has built her reputation through a relentless work ethic, elite play, and steady leadership. During the 2025 season, she set Oak Grove's single-season kills record with 514, leading the Panthers to a remarkable 36-1-1 record, a district championship, and a third-place finish at the MSHSAA State Championships. Along the way, she collected multiple all-conference and all-district honors while establishing herself as one of the state's premier hitters. But for Head Coach Kate Sollars, Hudson's legacy goes well beyond the numbers.​ "Paisley has been a natural leader for our program since she began her high school career. She is consistent and passionate with her play, and that's what makes her so much fun to coach." Sollars says Hudson's impact can be felt throughout the program, from the varsity lineup to the youngest Panthers learning the game.​ "She is a great teammate, building up other players and helping younger players develop. Her energy is contagious, and many of her teammates look up to her for guidance." While Hudson's accomplishments on the court speak for themselves, Activities Director Ryan Schartz believes her character is what truly separates her.​ "Paisley has been an outstanding representative of Oak Grove High School both on and off the court. She is an exceptional student, maintaining a 4.0 GPA, and exemplifies what it means to be a true student-athlete." Schartz says Hudson's leadership style has become the standard for Panther Athletics.​ "She leads by example every day with humility, kindness, and authenticity. We are incredibly proud of Paisley and know she will represent Texas A&M–Corpus Christi with the same character, determination, and integrity she has shown throughout her time at Oak Grove." Although her college future is now set, Hudson still has unfinished business in black and orange. Entering her junior season, she'll once again lead a Panther squad with championship aspirations while continuing to add to one of the most decorated careers in program history. The next chapter will take her to the Southland Conference and NCAA Division I volleyball, but her impact on Oak Grove Volleyball is already firmly established. Panther fans can still watch one of the program's all-time greats​ this fall season.
