NOUVEL TO HOST MLS IN OPENING ROUND OF PLAYOFFS: The Nouvel Catholic Central varsity football team opens the 2025 playoffs with a familiar opponent, Michigan Lutheran Seminary (MLS). The Cardinals will travel a mere four miles to Boyd Field on Halloween (Friday) to face Nouvel in the Division 8, Region 2, District 1 matchup. Kickoff is at 7:00 PM. This year Nouvel defeated MLS in regular-season play, 27-14. Nouvel will be looking for post-season revenge as the Cardinals knocked the Panthers out of the playoffs by one point (21-20) in round one in 2024. The Panthers hold a 15-7 advantage in all varsity football matchups between the schools, while MLS is ahead 5-4 since both teams joined the TVC in 2018. The winner of the Halloween battle will face the winner of Beal City/Sacred Heart Academy the following week for the distrct crown. Beal City (9-0) is the defending state champion. Nouvel defeated Sacred Heart 35-0 in the Bishop's Cup matchup two weeks ago. Look for a post-game summary of the NCC/MLS contest on this page by Saturday morning. Let's Go Panthers!
