NOUVEL HOMECOMING, A VICTORY ON AND OFF THE FIELD: The Nouvel varsity football team treated a capacity Boyd Field crowd to a 27-14 Homecoming victory over conference rival Michigan Lutheran Seminary (MLS). With the win, the Panthers move to 3-1 on the season. Owen Vance led the Panthers’ offense with 18 carries for 140 yards and four touchdowns. Christian Lopez paced the defense with 10 tackles. The Panther defense held MLS to 36 yards rushing and 74 yards passing. Nouvel came into the game ranked 10th in Division 8 by the Associated Press, while MLS (2-2) held the number nine spot. During halftime, Nouvel crowned this year’s homecoming queen, Natalie Shaheen, daughter of Dr. Sam and Holly Shaheen. Congratulations to Natalie and the entire Nouvel homecoming court.
