PANTHERS POST IMPRESSIVE ROAD SHUTOUT AT HEMLOCK: The Nouvel Catholic Central varsity football team recorded another dominant performance Friday, defeating Hemlock on the road 53-0. Nouvel set the tone early in the first quarter when Sean Foley scored on a punt return touchdown on the Panthers first offensive touch of the game. The squad rolled up a 26-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and never looked back. They added 27 more points in the second quarter and then coasted to victory in the second half. The win moves the Panthers' record to 5-1 on the season and follows another impressive 64-6 conference victory over Carrollton. In the past two games, Nouvel has outscored its opponents 117-6. The Panthers return to Boyd Field next week for a marquee matchup against Ithaca, who were ranked No. 2 in Tuesday's Division 7 Associated Press poll but fell to Valley Lutheran 23-22 on Friday. Nouvel and Ithaca are both 3-1 in the Tri-Valley Conference Blue division, trailing Valley Lutheran, which has a perfect 4-0 conference record.
