NOUVEL MOVES ON TO DISTRICT FINAL: The Nouvel boys varsity basketball team earned its place in the district final with a 59-42 victory over Midland Calvary Baptist on Wednesday. The win sets the stage for an all-Dioceses district finale against Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart Academy (18-4) on the Irish’s home court at 7:30 PM on Friday. The squads have met in the playoffs the past two seasons. Nouvel brings a 15-7 mark into the contest. Freshman Kobe Box (pictured) led the charge for Nouvel with 19 points, including four 3-pointers. RJ Kelley tallied 17 points and Owen Vance scored nine and added eight rebounds. Let’s Go Panthers!
