NOUVEL VARSITY TOPS SWAN VALLEY: The Nouvel Catholic Central boys varsity basketball team opened a three-games-in-three-days road stretch Wednesday with a 44–35 victory at Swan Valley. After falling behind 15–6 at the end of the first quarter, the Panthers responded with a lock-down defensive effort, limiting the Vikings to just 20 points over the final three quarters to secure the win and even their season record at 2–2. RJ Kelley led Nouvel with 20 points, while Sean Foley was a defensive force, recording nine steals that helped keep Swan Valley in check. NOTE: Due to Facebook issues, you need to go directly to www.nouvelsports.com to see pictures from Wednesday’s game. Clicking the collage will not work this time. The Panthers continue their road trip Thursday night at Carrollton against the Cavaliers before heading to SVSU’s Ryder Center on Friday to face Lansing Catholic in the Louis O’Neal High School Classic. Tip-off for both contests is 7:00 p.m. MLive will provide coverage of Thursday’s matchup at Carrollton. Look for game images on their website Friday morning. Let’s go, Panthers!
