NOUVEL LADY PANTHERS EARN FIRST VICTORY FOR COACH COOPER: The Nouvel Catholic Central Lady Panthers varsity basketball team defeated Coleman 51-33 at home on Monday. It marked the team’s first victory of the young season (1-2) and earned their new coach, Ashton Cooper, his first win at the helm of the Panther squad. Nouvel rolled a 10-0 lead before the Comets found the net. The Panthers held a 24-16 lead at the half and never looked back. Gabi Thiel and Rheese Chacon each reached double figures with 16 and 14 points respectively. The team travels to Carrollton Friday to face the 0-2 Cavaliers.
