NOUVEL FOOTBALL SEASON ENDS WITH HARD-FOUGHT LOSS TO BEAL CITY: The Nouvel Catholic Central varsity football team’s season came to a close Friday night, as the Panthers fell to defending Division 8 State Champion Beal City, 41-13, in the district final. The Aggies jumped out to a 27–7 lead in the first half and held the Panthers at bay through the remainder of the game to secure the district title and advance to face Harbor Beach in the regional round. Nouvel’s 13 points were the most scored against the Beal City defense this season; the previous high was just eight. Despite the loss, the Panthers capped off an impressive season with an 8–3 overall record — a testament to their skill, determination, and teamwork throughout the year. A round of applause, please, for Head Coach Drew Weigl, his coaching staff, and every athlete who contributed to this remarkable season. Special congratulations to our senior players, who suited up for their final football game in Nouvel blue and silver today.
