After a trip to the finals on Saturday and a quick day of rest, the lady Mounties traveled to Charlotte HS on Monday for a Tri against the Orioles and Howell HS. In the first match against Charlotte, the Mounties came out strong , winning the set 25-14. However, in the second match, the Mounties struggled to find their rhythm and lost the match 22-25. In the deciding set, the team regrouped and came out on top 25-21. Leading the Mounties offense against Charlotte was Izzy Gibson with seven kills and 14 service points; Adalyn Mack chipped in nine digs on defense. Up next, the Mounties took on a very skilled Howell squad. With the heat, humidity, and slippery floor conditions, the Mounties battled until the final whistle but came up short, losing 16-25 and 22-25. The key player of the night was Malena Herrera, who came to play! She recorded three kills and three blocks and contributed in a big way. She was LOCKED-IN! Other difference makers during various rotations throughout the night were Brenna Dietzel, Sophia Hendershot, Hadley Speer, and Audi Powell.
