NORTH POSEY ATHLETICS - WEEK OF 9/7 The North Posey Athletic programs had another successful week. Continue reading for all North Posey athletic updates for the week of September 7th. JV Football: The JV Football fell on the road at North Knox. The boys had several chances to pull out a victory but turnovers proved to be the deciding factor in a 12-8 loss. The JV team dropped to 2-1 on the season. Girls Golf: The girls golf team had a busy week. On Tuesday they hosted South Spencer and dropped a close one by 5 total shots. The girls played in a 3 team match on Wednesday finishing 2nd by defeating Forest Park but falling to Gibson So. The girls finished their week with a 9th place finish in the PAC tournament. The Ladies were led by Emily Schmitt who shot a 96 on the day. Volleyball: The Lady Viking volleyball team continues to compete at a high level. The girls went 2-1 on the week, defeating county rival Mt. Vernon (3-0), losing to a ranked Evansville North Team (3-1), and defeating Evansville Memorial (3-0). The ladies are currently 10-4 on the season and remain undefeated in PAC play at 4-0. Boys Soccer: The boys soccer team split their two matches on the week, dropping a match to Boonville 3-1 before getting a conference win at Pike Central 3-0. The boys will be back in action this week at Mt. Carmel and at Washington. Girls Soccer: The girls soccer program continues to battle. The ladies dropped two close matches this week, losing to Boonville 1-0 and Wood Memorial 3-2. Cross Country: It was an early wake up alarm for the Cross Country team last Saturday as they traveled to Brown County for the Eagle. Several personal best times and a fifth place girl’s finish in the A division of the girls varsity race. Lyla Hautman and Gwyn Beuligmann finished 6th and 11th respectively. On to South Knox next Saturday. Football: The boys football program continues to roll and currently sits at 4-0 after a road win on Friday night against previously undefeated Tell City. The Vikings were led by Running Back Cade Mauck who on the night carried the ball 25 times for a school record 334 yards and 3 TDs. The Vikings will host Pike Central at home on Friday. Boys Tennis: The boys Tennis program battled two conference opponents this past week going 1-1 in those matches. The boys knocked off South Spencer 5-0 before dropping a conference match to Tecumseh 5-0. The boys tennis program is currently 7-5 overall with a 5-2 PAC record.
