NORTH POSEY ATHLETICS - WEEK OF 8/31 The North Posey Athletic programs had another successful week. The Vikings had to overcome several heat related adjustments but were able to battle through with some impressive performances. JV Football: The JV Football team improved to 2-0 with a win last Monday vs. Tecumseh. The Vikings outscored the Braves 43-0 on their way to an impressive road win. Girls Golf: Unfortunately the heat forced the cancellation of all girls golf events last week. Several makeup dates are being planned. The girls will play in the PAC Championship tournament on Saturday 9/12 at the Farm. Volleyball: The Lady Vikings had another impressive week posting wins vs. Evansville Central (3-1), Carmi (2-0), and Heritage Hills (3-2). The volleyball program improved its overall record to 6-3 and remain undefeated in Pocket Athletic Conference play. Boys Soccer: The lone boys soccer match scheduled for last week was cancelled due to the extreme heat. The boys will be back in action on Tuesday 9/8 vs. Boonville. Girls Soccer: The girls soccer program fought through the heat on Saturday morning but unfortunately dropped their only match this week 4-1 to Forest Park. The Lady Vikings will be back in action on Tuesday 9/8 at Boonville. Cross Country: It was a hot Saturday morning at Gibson Southern but that did not keep our cross country Vikings from putting up some impressive times! Rowen Engelbright won the girls division with Gwyn Beuligmann coming in at 4th and Lyla Hautman placing 5th. Warren Bowers took 10th in the Boys Freshman/Sophomore Division. Several personal bests and a great race by all. Way to go Vikings! On to Brown County next Saturday! Football: The boys football program had an impressive win at home Friday night vs. the visiting North Knox Warriors. Carter Schickel threw for over 200 yards, Cade Mauck rushed for over 100 yards, and Camden Clowers had over 100 yards receiving for the Vikings. The Vikings improve to 3-0 overall and will head to Tell City next Friday for a huge PAC matchup. Boys Tennis: The boys battled the heat and played their first match under the lights this year in a hard fought loss to the #3 ranked Gibson Southern Titans. The boys tennis program is currently 6-4 overall with a 4-1 PAC record.
