New Castle Middle School Trojans 7th Grade defeated conference rival Delta Eagles 7th Grade 15-2 on Monday at Denny Bolden Field thanks in part to 12 runs in the third inning. Gavin Hurt singled, scoring one run, Mason Jeffries doubled, scoring two runs, Cooper Penrose reached on error scoring one run, Jayden Moffitt added a single, Blake Walters drew a walk, scoring one run, Greyson Edwards walked, Carter Silvers singled, scoring two runs, Hudson White reached on a dropped third strike, scoring one run, Hurt drew a walk, scoring one run, Levi Huckeby doubled, scoring two runs, and Jeffries grounded out, scoring one run. New Castle Middle School Trojans 7th Grade jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Hurt hit into an error, scoring one run, Jeffries added a walk and Cooper Penrose singled, scoring two runs. Huckeby opened the game for New Castle earning his second win on the season. The pitcher gave up one hit and two runs over two and one-third innings, striking out four and walking four. Silvers appeared in relief earning the first save of the year for New Castle. Silvers and Huckeby each collected two hits for New Castle. Huckeby, Penrose, and Jeffries each drove in two runs for the Trojans. Hurt, Huckeby, Penrose, and Jeffries each stole multiple bases for New Castle Middle School Trojans 7th Grade. New Castle amassed 12 stolen bases for the game. The Trojans were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. New Castle Middle School Trojans 7th Grade remained undefeated on the season moving to 3-0. New Castle hosts Pendleton Tuesday night at 5pm at Denny Bolden Field.
