The 2026 wrestling season now in the books, and what a great season! Our conditioning began in early December with hard work and anticipation from the coaching staff and athletes alike. And after 6 weeks of hard work our athletes were prepared and excited to take on the season. We opened the year with our traditional opponent Mt. Vernon, a true test of where we were physically, mentally and technically. Our athletes responded courageously and we came away with a dominating win, 75 – 36. The first win here in many years. We followed that up with a 3 way dual in New Palestine where we got a quick and needed reality check. We ended the day with a 1 & 2 record, dropping matches to New Pal & East Noble. This served as a wake up call & we hit the practice mats pretty hard in response. With a disappointing 2 & 2 record, we next hosted Rushville & Tri Middle School at home, getting back on the winning track & secured a nice 83 – 24 victory vs Rushville & a 108 – 12 victory vs. Tri. (setting a current team record) Now on a winning streak, we returned to the road against a much larger Greenfield Central squad. Where we kept the train on the winning track securing an over 50 point victory against a conference rival. Continuing to stack up wins the team invaded an always tough Yorktown squad and our scrappers responded in convincing fashion bringing home a solid win 85 – 33. Next up for the Trojans was the Richmond Middle School Preview, where our athletes did not disappoint. We had a great evening of wrestling.
