NCA's Lady Lions handled Dallas First Baptist Academy last Thursday in the Regional Round at Fort Worth Christian, 8-5, to advance to this weekend's TAPPS State Semifinal v. Weatherford Christian at UTA's Allen Saxe Field! The Lady Lions pounced on the Weatherford Christian Lions in the top of the 1st, with a lead-off double by Savannah Spangler to the center field fence, after which Madison Glendenning reached 1st safely. Grayson Whitsell then blasted a 3-run 220 foot shot over the left field fence to start the game 3-0 before Weatherford could even take a breath! The Lady Lions then proceeded to get 2 more runners on base, for freshman Gracyn Grass to hit a 2 RBI fly ball to right center, making the score 5-0. WCS responded with a few hits of their own in the bottom of the 1st, making the score 5-2 NCA after 1. It was all NCA from that point forward, with the game ending by run rule at 12-2 after 5. The Lady Lions made NCA so proud today, by competing against a stellar Sacred Heart Halletsville team in NCA's 1st ever STATE CHAMPIONSHIP GAME! Our Ladies finished as the TAPPS Division 4 Softball State Runner-Up team, and made our school very proud! Way to go Lady Lions!!! **Photo Credits: Matt Platts
