Varsity Boys' Baseball swept Mercy Culture Prep in District Play this past week! Tuesday they traveled to Texas Star to take on the Royals, and after 5 scoreless innings, the Lions finally got on the board. Carson Drury and Aidan Adams both singled to lead off the 6th, and Brenner Russell delivered a huge double with 2 RBI's to break the ice! Jacob Struble pitched the complete game shutout for the Lions, going 7 innings and setting a new PR with 11 K's. On Friday, the Royals came to Lion Country, on an extremely windy day, to face off with the Lions. After a slow start, NCA found itself in a 5-0 deficit, but the guys battled back at the plate, scoring 13 runs in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings! NCA notched 12 hits on the day, capped by Carson's Drury's Walk-Off Run Rule Homerun over the left field fence in the bottom of the 6th! Noah Hargrove picked up the win from the mound, going 4 innings with 9 K's on only 66 pitches. The Lions move to 3-0 in District Play and 6-2 overall. They will now enjoy Spring Break, but will be back in action against Bethesda immediately after Spring Break.
