Varsity Boys Sweep Mercy Culture

Varsity Boys' Baseball swept Mercy Culture Prep in District Play this past week! Tuesday they traveled to Texas Star to take on the Royals, and after 5 scoreless innings, the Lions finally got on the board. Carson Drury and Aidan Adams both singled to lead off the 6th, and Brenner Russell delivered a huge double with 2 RBI's to break the ice! Jacob Struble pitched the complete game shutout for the Lions, going 7 innings and setting a new PR with 11 K's. On Friday, the Royals came to Lion Country, on an extremely windy day, to face off with the Lions. After a slow start, NCA found itself in a 5-0 deficit, but the guys battled back at the plate, scoring 13 runs in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th innings! NCA notched 12 hits on the day, capped by Carson's Drury's Walk-Off Run Rule Homerun over the left field fence in the bottom of the 6th! Noah Hargrove picked up the win from the mound, going 4 innings with 9 K's on only 66 pitches. The Lions move to 3-0 in District Play and 6-2 overall. They will now enjoy Spring Break, but will be back in action against Bethesda immediately after Spring Break.
