Munster hit the road to face conference rival Hobart and came away with a strong 9-5 victory, fueled by consistent offense and key base running. Hobart jumped out early with a 3-run bottom of the first, but Munster answered back in the top of the second. Cece Mason was hit by a pitch, stole second, and came home on a pair of wild pitches. Cali Rybicki singled, and Brooklyn Kuna followed with a walkand each advanced on a groundout. Maddy Marlowe came through with a two-RBI single to center, tying the game. In the third, Walks to Lily Compton and Kaylee O’Connell set the table. Addy Biel walked to load the bases. Rybicki then lifted a sacrifice fly to score O’Connell, giving Munster the lead. Hobart briefly responded with a solo homer in the bottom half. The Mustangs’ bats came alive again in the fifth. Biel and Rybicki led off with singles, and Kuna laid down a bunt single to load the bases. Milania Munoz singled home a run, and Miah Almaguer followed with an RBI single of her own. A Hobart error allowed another run to score, and O’Connell added an RBI single to cap a four-run frame. Almaguer stayed hot in the seventh with a leadoff double and later scored on a single by Compton. Hobart managed a late run in the bottom of the inning, but it wasn’t enough to close the gap.
