The Mustangs secured a key conference victory on Tuesday, rallying from behind to defeat Lowell 4-2 on the road. Trailing 2-1 heading into the top of the sixth, Ally Compton sparked the comeback with a leadoff single. After Kaylee O’Connell drew a walk and a flyout, Morgan Kindy walked to load the bases. Cai Rybicki then worked a clutch bases-loaded walk to tie the game, and Melania Marlowe followed with a sacrifice fly to give the Mustangs a 3-2 lead. Compton delivered again in the top of the seventh, blasting a solo home run to give the Mustangs an insurance run. She finished the night 2-for-3 at the plate and played a major role on the mound as well. O’Connell started the game, pitching five solid innings and allowing just two earned runs while striking out eight. Compton came in for the final two innings, notching four strikeouts and earning the win in relief. The Mustangs improve their overall record to 10-3 and 3-0 in conference. The Mustangs will be back in action on Friday playing Columbia City at 3 PM and Leo at Leo at 5 PM. The JV team beat Lowell 6-5 at home.
