In a thrilling middle school track and field meet on Monday evening, the Wilbur Wright Mustangs were narrowly defeated by the Clark Coyotes, 55-50. The meet came down to the final event—the 4x400m relay—making for an intense and exciting finish for athletes and spectators alike. Despite the narrow loss, several Mustangs stood out with impressive performances. J. Jez claimed first place in the hurdles. B. Bliss delivered a strong double win in the 1600m and 800m. N. Cunningham also brought home a first-place finish in the 400m, and the 4x800m relay team took first in their event, highlighting the Mustangs’ depth in distance events. The Mustangs will look to bounce back in their next meet against Pierce Middle School on Monday, April 21 at 5 PM. With strong early-season performances, WWMS is poised for a competitive and exciting season ahead.
