Mustangs Power Past Hobart in Game One of Series The Munster Varsity Mustangs kicked off their series against Hobart with an explosive offensive showing, securing a 10-4 road victory on Tuesday, April 8. The win featured a seven-run first inning that gave Munster all the momentum they needed to control the game. Munster’s offense came out firing early, capitalizing on patient at-bats and timely hits. Senior Nate Southwell led the charge at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple, and two RBIs. Zach Wright and Danny Schassburger each drove in runs as well, while Mason Jarrett scored three times and added a hit. The Mustangs collected seven total hits and drew eight walks as they kept the pressure on Hobart’s pitching throughout the contest. On the mound, T. Fuller and C. Dumaresq combined to hold Hobart to just five hits while striking out seven. Fuller earned the win after tossing three innings, allowing only one earned run. Dumaresq followed with three strong innings of relief, fanning seven batters and giving up a single run. With the win, Munster split the two-game series after falling in the return game.
