The varsity softball team defeated conference rival, Andrean, 7-6 with a bases loaded walk by Cece Mason in the bottom of the 8th inning. With the score tied at 6, Kaylee O'Connell came in to pitch the 8th inning and was able to hold the 59ers at bay. In the bottom of the 8th with one out, the Mustangs strung together 3 singles by Caroline Wendling, Miah Almaguer, and Ally Compton. After a fielder's choice, Cece mason drew the two out walk to get the game winning RBI. The Mustangs had 14 hits on the night and were led by Cece Mason with her game winning RBI and a three-run homerun. Four other Mustangs had multi-hit games--Wendlinger (3); Almaguer (2); Compton (4); and O'Connell (2). The Mustangs record is now 8-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play. The JV also earned a 2-1 victory of Andrean. Alessandra Tovar pitched a complete game with 9 K's. Addie Smitka and Piper Edens scored the two runs off of hits by Caitlin Bochenbek and Amelia Ramirez.
