The Munster Mustangs earned a second-place finish at the inaugural Munster Invite, turning in a strong performance after a challenging week of weather and a quick turnaround in preparation for the weekend tournament. Munster's offense was led by Ally Compton, Alex Rucinski, Morgan Trotter and Rachel Keefner, who combined for multiple kills throughout the tournament. Compton was especially strong at the net and contributed with powerful attacks from both the front and back rows. The Mustangs also made their presence felt at the net, with Cadence Patterson, Cailin Robichaud, Mimi Hamilton and Callie Zack helping shut down opposing hitters with strong blocking. Taylor Pumphrey and Morgan Whelan directed the offense with well-placed sets, spreading the attack and keeping opposing defenses on their toes. Munster's back-row defense was anchored by Gigi Castro, Kiki Kantar and Leah Selin, who made key plays to keep rallies alive and give the offense opportunities to score. With only three days of fast-paced practices following a derecho, the Mustangs showed plenty of resilience and responded with a strong tournament performance. The second-place finish highlighted the team's depth, energy and ability to compete under challenging circumstances. The Mustangs will look to build on the momentum as the season continues. Way to go, Stangs!
