Varsity vs Mt Zion High School Win The Bulldogs continued to stake their claim to the best in area by knocking off Mt. Zion 3-0. Diminishing the one blemish they had against any area team this season, and moving to 15-5-2. In the first half both teams played pretty back and forth. The field conditions made it somewhat difficult to pass the ball, but the Bulldogs went too far away from possession and instead settled for simply playing long. In the second half, the Bulldogs took control through better possession on the ground. They moved the ball a little less directly and it paid off. Hannah Creel got the Dogs on the board on a ball played side to side from Gwen Cambron. The Bulldogs kept it going as Gwen came up big again slotting it past the keeper for the 2-0 lead, on a ball played by Ella Walker. The Braves started to put more numbers back to deal with the pressure, but it didn’t stop senior Grace Binkley from piling on. The Bulldog’s stout defense will need to be on display Tuesday as they travel to sectionals and play the top ranked team in state-Springfield HS at 530.
