Mahomet Seymour High School

Greetings, Boys' Track & Field won the 30-team Spartan Classic. Taking advantage of the amazing weather we had lots of great performances. We started things out with a bang on the track with back-to-back school records! The 4 x 800 relay crushed the school record going 7:53.95 the team was Henry McMurry, Ethan Ramirez, Lukas Nykaza, and Augustus Gaudio. The old record was 7:56.65 set in 2012. The 4 x 100 relay team of Travis Hoffman, Steffen Kellner, Wade Manuel, & Dylan Smith ran a 42.82 to set a new school record. The previous record was 43.07 set in 2023. Ty Clark vaulted 15' 3.5" winning the event and placing him 3rd on the all time list just right behind his coach and Dad! Dylan Smith ran 11.05 in the 100 meters placing him in the top ten of all time. Ethan Ramirez ran a 1:58.94 in the 800 putting him in the top ten of all time for that event. Tate Bode ran 9:51 in the two-mile for 2nd place. Adam Smigielski ran a 9:59.87 good for fourth, but also of note is that Adam is the first freshman in school history to run the 3200 in under 10 minutes! Henry McMurry had quite a night running 4:22.77 winning the event. We believe that may be the fastest a junior has run the 1600 in school history. Great night overall!
