Mahomet Seymour High School

On a windy, chilly evening over at Monticello the Mahomet-Seymour Boys’ Track team had several outstanding performances. The highlight of the night was the 800 meters. Auggie Gaudio ran a 1:57.65 and Henry McMurry ran a 1:58.09. They went 1--2 in the meet and both times are in the all time best list's top 10! MSHS won every relay. Impressively, in the 4 x 100 meters relay of Travis Hoffman, Steffen Kellner, Wade Manual, and Dylan Smith ran a 43.90. A very good time for this group’s first time out and is the #11 time on the all time list. Ty Clark continues to be dominant in the pole vault. Winning with a vault of 14’ 9.5”. He barely missed setting a new P.R. and stadium record at Monticello. Two great freshmen contributors are worthy of mention - Jayvon Tompkins won the shot put with a throw of 14.72 meters (48’ 4”) and Jude McWilliams got 2nd in the pole vault at 12’ 0” and 3rd in the 300 hurdles at 47.65. A couple of other newcomers to the program Bryson Tiefenthaler and Austo Li went 1st and 2nd in the triple jump. A solid win for Mahomet and a great start to our track season.
