Varsity vs University High School (1 - 4) Loss 1st half MS (road) 1 U-high 4 Second half No goals MS opened the season on the road against a very strong U-High squad. The Pioneers highlighted some work still to be done in the defensive third, scoring four times in the first half. The girls are moving to a new formation that most have not played before. They struggled with a few of the defensive rotations and marking tightly in the box, and U-High was able to punish them for it. On the positives, Erica Johnson was able to find a breakaway to score a clean goal for the Bulldogs. Ava Watkins was able to find the seam for the running Johnson and Erika had a clean finish on the ground into the side net. The second half was a better contest from the Bulldog perspective, however, they were not able to close the gap. Freshmen keeper Lainey Jacobs and winger Kennedy Davis made their first career starts for the Bulldogs. Jacobs had 9 saves for MS on the day.
