We had 4 medalists--junior Auggie Gaudio (CONFERENCE CHAMPION), junior Henry McMurry (CONFERENCE RUNNER-UP), senior Kaleb Kasper (4th), and senior Lukas Nykaza (10th). Honorable mention to Zach Wilcoski for placing 11th. We keep records of the fastest times run by class for MSHS runners at the Conference meet. It should be noted that the course changes each year. This year, the course was a very flat 3-mile course. The temperature was great for an XC race, although it was a little bit windy. Kaleb Kasper ran the 10th fastest MSHS senior time with a 15:28. Lukas Nykaza ran the 18th fastest MSHS senior time with a 15:54. Zach Wilcoski ran the 19th fastest MSHS senior time with a 15:54. Auggie Gaudio ran the 4th fastest MSHS junior time with a 15:03. Henry McMurry ran the 9th fastest MSHS junior time with a 15:13. Tate Bode ran the 12th fastest MSHS sophomore time with a 16:09. Adam Smigielski ran the 4th fastest MSHS freshman time with a 16:05. Carter Alderks ran the 18th fastest MSHS freshman time with a 16:56. Liam Burwell ran the 21st fastest MSHS freshman time with a 17:02. The team had a very strong day. The top 5 average (15:29.7) and the overall team average (17:09.2) were the 3rd fastest we've ever had at the Conference meet, only being beaten by the 2015 and 2016 teams. The top 7 average (15:40.3) was the 2nd fastest we've ever had at the Conference meet, only being beaten by the 2016 team. Every single member of our team that finished the race ran a lifetime 3-mile best today (21/22). We also honored our seniors tonight: Gavin Fan, Kaleb Kasper, Lukas Nykaza, and Zach Wilcoski. Our next competition is the IHSA Regional meet on Saturday, October 26th, at Lake Land College in Mattoon. The boys top 7 will race at 10:45am. Top 6 teams from this regional advance to the sectional one week later at Olney Central College. Full Mahomet-Seymour results can be seen below. Thank you for your support.
