Girls Cross Country 3rd at Clinton MSHS Girls Cross Country had a fantastic start to our season last night. The varsity team placed 3rd out of 15 teams, trailing two talented teams in Rochester and Shelbyville, Sophomore Taylor MIlls 5th place (18:15) Junior Emily Anand 11th (18;54) Freshman Cecily Smith 23rd (19:50) Freshman Kennedy Ashby 33rd (20:17) Senior Chloe Bundren 37th (20:26) Senior Morgan Waisath 42th (20:51) Freshman Finley Smith 45th (20:58) There were 118 runners in the race. 3 of our runners set lifetime bests in this race which is a huge accomplishment for the first race of the season. Taylor had a 20 second PR, Emily smashed her PR from freshman year, and Morgan had a 49 second PR. The freshmen, running their first 3 mile race, looked calm. cool and collected and set very high initial marks. In the open race, our 3 remaining seniors, Ava Jansen, Emma Frazier and Emmaline Culp,worked well together near the front of the race and did a great job setting the tone for their teammates.
