Girls Track and Field results from Champaign County Meet What a day in Rantoul at the Champaign County Invite. It was perfect if you like wind, cold and rain. We had hoped that the weather would get better as the day moved along, but it didn't. Because of the temperature (in the 40s), a lot of teams pulled their sprinters that were competing in multiple events to avoid unnecessary muscle strain. We followed suit in some areas. There were only 3 teams standing by the end of the 4x400 and we were one of them. So proud of our athletes and how they faced the adversity. Times/distances sometimes took a hit due to the weather, but the athletes all competed. We also had some athletes try new events, which made for a fun day. It was great to watch them all cheer each other on. I am still looking into team scoring. I think the places are right though: 1. Centennial 2. Mahomet-Seymour 3. Rantoul 4. Fisher 5. St. Joe 6.
