Lady Bulldogs Shine with Record Marks and Personal Bests in Indoor Meet (No Team Scores Kept) The Lady Bulldogs delivered an outstanding performance tonight, highlighted by event victories, state-ranked marks, and numerous personal bests across the board While I am about to share some of the race highlights of the night, I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to our athletes for their great sportsmanship and character, as noted by an opposing team's coach. Thankful to spend the evening with these athletes. A snapshot view of our results (those finishing in the top 5): 60 M. Hurdles 4. Selma Tilton (10.53). Selma entered finals ranked 6 but finally took the risk and pulled off a successful 3 step race for most of the hurdles. 400 M. Dash 5. Cecily Smith (1:05) 800. M. Run 1. Anniston Huff (2:24)- RACE CHAMP 1600 M. Run 2. Emily Anand (5:21)- Ran a great race against another top runner in the state. 3200 M. Run 3. Ava Cvengros (12:44)- against two top ranked veteran runners in the state Pole Vault 2. Cecily Smith (3.12m) 5. Finley Smith (2.52 m) 4x400 Relay 1. Evie Hillard, Mady Marx, Anniston Huff, Cecily Smith (4:08.66)- Cecily was pulled last minute for a sub. She stepped up and helped her team run a season best time, after having a great showing less than an hour before in the open 400. RACE CHAMPS. These stats don't even come close to sharing the excitement that we experienced tonight. We have a lot of athletes out with illness and had to fill some openings with athletes that are still learning. So proud of younger runners for trying new things. Coach O'Neill captured it well as Freshman Cambria Clark tried the high jump for the first time- with the word "BRAVE" painted on the wall behind her. Of course it was just part of "Braves" logo painted on the wall in the fieldhouse, but it was a cool moment. For full results, visit Mt. Zion Girls' Track Invitational Results. A lot of our athletes are taking risks and trying new things. Fun night. Another great evening to be a bulldog.
