The Varsity Golden Bears went to the Semi-Final round of the Randolph County Tournament Saturday morning (9/27/25) and had to face off with the Indians from Union City. The Golden Bears were determined in this match and won 3-0 with scores of 25-17, 25-11 and 25-14. This big win allowed the Golden Bears to advance to the County Championship Game. In the Championship game they faced off with the Falcons from Winchester. This Winchester team is playing very well and were able to take the County Championship 0-3 with scores of 13-25, 14-25, 15-25. The Golden Bears did show they wanted to fight hard throughout the match. The Golden Bears, over the course of 3 matches, were able to put up some impressive individual stats. Those include: Senior Hadley Hendrickson- 13 aces, 30 kills, 16 receptions, 19 digs and 2 assists Senior Shyan Bennett- 3 aces, 17 kills, 26 receptions, 1 assist, 30 diges and 1 block Sophomore Bentley Pegg- 7 aces, 4 kills, 73 assists and 19 digs Senior Sophia Bolton- 7 aces, 22 receptions and 18 digs Freshman Maylynn Morrison- 6 aces, 14 kills, 15 receptions, 2 assists, 1 block and 13 digs. Senior Addi Grove- 9 aces, 4 kills, 17 receptions, 2 assists and 18 digs. Freshman Mckenna Murphy- 16 kills, 2 receptions, 3 assists and 3 digs. The Golden Bears will be back in action on Monday night (9/29/25) at home when they face off with Bulldogs of Lapel. The JV match is scheduled to begin at 6pm.
