7th Grade: Lady Bears Defend Home Court in Three-Set Victory The Monroe Central 7th Grade Lady Bears improved their season record to 5-1 after defeating Hagerstown in an exciting three-set battle at home. The Bears took the match with scores of 25-16, 25-22, and 15-12. The team was fueled by strong performances across the board. Alexa Tinsman led the attack with 7 kills, 4 aces, and 3 digs, while Mabrey Cheesman directed the offense with 7 assists to go along with 2 aces and 2 digs. Delainee Whitehead added a spark from the service line and net, recording 5 aces and 3 kills. Ellie Lanter contributed 3 aces and 3 kills, and Blakely Burge tallied 4 assists and 1 ace. Defensively, Harper Whitehead picked up a key dig to keep the rally alive. The Lady Bears showed poise and teamwork down the stretch, holding off Hagerstown in the decisive third set to secure the win. 8th Grade: The 8th Grade Lady Bears fell to a very tough Hagerstown team in the Tuesday volleyball match.
