Monroe Central Varsity Bears Stymied By Alexandria-Monroe Varsity Tigers By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears couldn't keep up with Alexandria-Monroe Varsity Tigers and fell 14-3 on Monday. Alexandria-Monroe Varsity Tigers were the first to get on the board in the first when Stella Griffin singled, scoring one run. Monroe Central Varsity Bears took the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Zoie Hood grounded out, and Aleiyah Davis grounded out, each scoring one run. Alexandria-Monroe Varsity Tigers flipped the game on its head in the top of the second, scoring five runs on two hits to take the lead, 6-2. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Griffin that drove in two. Alexandria-Monroe Varsity Tigers scored five runs on five hits in the top of the fifth inning. An error scored two runs, an error scored one run, Dasiy Bivens singled, scoring one run, and Kinsley Johnson singled, scoring one run. Alyssa Brees earned the win for Alexandria-Monroe Varsity Tigers. The hurler allowed six hits and three runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out one and walking four. Kloee Brannan took the loss for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The righty went three and two-thirds innings, surrendering 10 runs (one earned) on 10 hits, striking out none and walking one. Kyra Brockman began the game for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The starter surrendered two hits and four runs (two earned) over one and one-third innings, striking out one and walking three. Hood provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Monroe Central Varsity Bears with two runs batted in. The first baseman went 1-for-3 on the day. Jayme Brannan went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Monroe Central Varsity Bears in hits. Brannan and Laura Walker each stole multiple bases for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Monroe Central Varsity Bears ran wild on the base paths, amassing four stolen bases for the game. Alexandria-Monroe Varsity Tigers accumulated 12 hits in the game. Griffin provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Alexandria-Monroe Varsity Tigers with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 4-for-4 on the day. Brynlee Humphries collected two hits for Alexandria-Monroe Varsity Tigers in four at bats. Johnson stole three bases. Alexandria-Monroe Varsity Tigers turned one double play in the game.
