Varsity Baseball defeats Eastern Hancock

Monroe Central Varsity Bears Secure Win Against Eastern Hancock By GameChanger Media Monroe Central Varsity Bears were victorious against Eastern Hancock 7-3 on Thursday. Monroe Central Varsity Bears were the first to get on the board in the second when Kyler Bogue homered to left field, scoring two runs. Monroe Central Varsity Bears added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Lane Wilson singled up the middle, Levi Pence doubled to center field, Isaac Middleton doubled to center field, and Myles Oliphant grounded out, each scoring one run. Caleb Luedike earned the win for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. The pitcher allowed four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out seven and walking three. Aidan Morris took the loss for Eastern Hancock. The starting pitcher went three innings, allowing six runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking none. Oliphant appeared in relief for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Monroe Central Varsity Bears tallied nine hits in the game. Logan Walker and Wilson were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Oliphant, Bogue, Middleton, Wilson, and Pence each drove in one run for Monroe Central Varsity Bears. Hayden Rouse went 1-for-4 at the plate and led the team with one run batted in. Gavin Jenkins went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Eastern Hancock in hits. Monroe Central Varsity Bears will travel to Muncie Central for their next game on Friday.
